                                        We read the following books throughout the week.

                 

       Morning Message:  The students are now helping Mrs. Morlan fix mistakes in the message.

                                   

                              Math:  We worked on counting and sorting using fruit snacks.

                                 

Calendar Math:  This shows our estimation jar activity.  First we estimate the objects.  Then we count to find out the exact amount.  A student comes up to sort the objects into two groups.  Another student places cards in the correct order to show an addition problem.  We have also expanded to subtraction problems.

                             Journals:  We wrote about the job we would like to have when we grow up.

                                                

                                    Reading:  The students below are using their fingers to find letters.

                           

Phonics:  We studied the letter Aa this week.  The student below is feeding Mrs. Sound Muncher Apple Sauce!

                                              

                                                                We read the book Hot, Hot, Hot.

                                                     

 

                                                                          Centers

 

                       Bakery: Students pretend to be a baker as they make peanut butter balls!

 

                    

                                                                                                                                     

            Police Station:  Students practiced answering the telephone and took finger prints.

                                

          Doctor's Office:  Students make a doctor bag and placed important tools in the bag.

               

                                       

                                   Dentist Office:  Students worked on Mr. Drill and Fill.

               

                           Store:  Students used money to buy objects as well as sell objects.

                    

                                           Jewelry Maker:  Students made an AB necklace.

                                                 

                                    Media Center:  Students checked out and read books.

                  

   Post Office:  Students placed the correct letter in the correct mailbox (matched dots to numbers.)

                                   

                                                         

                       Band Director:  Students listened to music as they directed their band.

                                                             

                                             

                                     Builders:  Students used the blocks to build a house.

 

                       

 

                               Teacher:  Students practiced teaching using the wipe-off board.
