Class Behavior Plan
Each child has a bee with his/her name on it. All the bees are on the beehive. The beehive consists of three colors. The top of the hive is green, the middle is yellow, and the bottom is red.
Each day the bees start off on green. The first time a child breaks a rule, he/she will be verbally reminded of the correct way to behave.
The second time the child breaks a rule, the child will have to move his/her bee to yellow on the hive.
The third time a rule is broken, the child will move his/her name to red on the beehive. If a child ends up on red at the end of the day, he/she will receive a note for his/her parents. This note will explain why the child ended his/her day on red. The child will also not receive a "treat" at the end of the day.
| |
If the child continues to misbehave while on red, he/she will have to sit in the Reflection chair in the room. The child will write an action plan while in the chair. This plan will show what the child did wrong and what he/she should have done instead.
Students who behave appropriately will be positively rewarded with verbal praise and caught "bee-ing" goods.
Students are also rewarded throughout the day by getting items out of the Honey Pot.
On Friday, I will draw one name out of our "Caught Bee-ing Good" bucket.
The person who is pulled out of the "Caught Being Good Bucket" on Friday gets to choose an item from our "Caught Being Good Bag."
Parents will receive a "Busy Bee Behavior Report" daily to inform them of the child's behavior daily.
Please view our school wide discipline procedures listed in the student handbook.

Class Behavior Rewards
We work hard as a "team" to have good behavior. If the over-all behavior of the class is good during different segments of the day, the class earns a link to go on the class chain.
Once the class link touches the floor, the class celebrates with a popcorn treat. Sometimes our behavior is so good that it will touch the floor twice in one week. When that happens, we earn drinks to go with our popcorn!
Students Who Remain on Green ALL Month Long
| |
We love to celebrate those students who keep their name on green ALL month long each month. We do this by placing their name and picture out in the hall. The student will recieve a "Good Behavior Certificate" and an ice cream ticket. The student will also have his or her picture and name printed out on one of our weekly Newsletters to spread the good news!!
School Wide Behavior Rewards
| |
The entire facility and staff at Maxwell are on the look out for students who are "Doing What Is Right When No One Else Is Looking." If a student is spotted going the extra mile to take care of our school and to behave in different areas of the school, he or she could earn a Renaissance Paw. Once a student has three paws, he or she is able to get a Renaissance bracelet at the nine weeks Renaissance Pep Rally.
Every teacher in the school is also on the look out each month for a "Renaissance Kid." This is a student who stands out by making improvements and really trying hard during the month. This student will earn a Renaissance T-shirt and will be invited to the "Renaissance Sock Hop" at the end of the school year.

Busy Bee Behavior Procedures
Our main rules are to "Be Careful, Be Kind, and Be Caring."
In order to do this, there are many procedures that must be followed.
Being Careful.......
This picture shows the students sitting on their bottoms with their hands in their lap. This will assure that everyone is paying attention and keeping their feet and hands to themselves.
Hall Procedures
Being Kind, Careful, and Caring..........
While waiting in the hall we are kind to other students who are trying to learn by staying quiet. We are careful by keeping one finger over our mouth, one hand behind our back, and staying in a straight line. We are caring by keeping our bodies off the walls!
MAX position
Being kind, careful, and caring.......
When doing our classwork, we try to remember to sit up in the "MAX position." By doing this our ears are listening, eyes are watching, and body is still. It is the kind and caring thing to do because other students in the class are trying to learn and Mrs.Morlan is trying to teach. It is careful so that we make sure we listen and understand what is going on.
Listen
Being kind.........
It is important to listen when someone else is talking!
Raise Hands
Being kind and caring.......
We raise our hands so that we may take turns to speak because it is the kind and caring way to behave during our lessons.
Neat Room
Being careful.......
We try to keep a neat room with our bookbags hung up and our chairs pushed in so we will not trip and get hurt.
